Today, we had Stake Conference and IT WAS WONDERFUL! Sister Bridges (RS Pres) spoke about the role of women in the Church. "Marvelous is the power of women of faith." The Lord has invited us to ride up with Him...we only need to get on. Never suppress a generous thought.
A sister in the stake spoke about choices: "Choices aren't necessarily between good and evil...they are among best, best, and best."
The Stake Presidency spoke about receiving personal revelation, and President Harper spoke about this important 5-year period of our lives. He said, "Your whole eternity will be affected by the decisions you make in this 5-year period."
Also tonight, was our Stake Relief Society Commemoration and our Stake Relief Society Presidency spoke to us. Sister Purett stated 3 things that we are to do:
1) A grateful heart is a happy heart.
2) Be serviceable to others.
3) Be gentle: with others and yourself.
Sister Eddie talked about finding joy in the journey. "If you have a miserable day once in awhile, or a few in a row, stand still and strong. Things will work themselves out." "Stop seeking out the storms in life and enjoy the sunlight!"
Sister Bridges spoke about Joseph Smith and the music inside his soul. We need to make the best of our existence. Life is not about perfection, instead be perfect in love, one for another. If you are trying to live righteously, you are on the right path.
President Harper also spoke about the single most important thing that we are to do: Love the Lord...perfectly. "Live your life so that when others see you, they will want to come to know Christ because they knew you."
It has been a great Sunday and I am thankful for the wonderful blessings in my life. I have amazing roommates and awesome friends and a loving family that supports me through everything. Even the past weekend, with dancing in Dance Sport, even though my sisters weren't there watching, they were all cheering me on! :) My roommate was there to cheer me on even though it was 8 am on a Saturday morning! I know that I am loved because the Lord has blessed my life with wonderful people! Happy Sunday and have a great week!
